IS 318 LTB3 (Yellow Brass Grade 3) is the standard yellow brass casting grade in the Indian standard IS 318, directly equivalent to C85700 (USA) and CC750S (EN 1982). With approximately 61% copper, 36% zinc, and 1.0–2.5% lead, IS 318 LTB3 is the highest-volume commercial brass casting grade in India, used for decorative architectural hardware, plumbing trim, lamp fittings, door hardware, electrical component housings, and general commercial castings produced in Indian foundries for domestic and export supply.
Alloy Overview
IS 318 LTB3 specifies Cu 58–64%, Zn balance, Pb 1.0–2.5%, Sn max 0.5% – closely matching ASTM B584 C85700 and EN 1982 CC750S. The combination of good castability, high machinability (80–90% CDA), and attractive golden-yellow colour makes LTB3 the default grade for commercial and decorative hardware casting production in Indian foundries including Electrical Accessories India’s Jamnagar facility.
