C95600 Bronze Casting

C95600 Bronze Casting – CDA 956 | Silicon Aluminum Bronze | UNS C95600

C95600 (UNS C95600, CDA 956) is a silicon aluminum bronze casting alloy containing 6.0–8.0% aluminium and 1.8–3.2% silicon. The silicon addition serves a critical metallurgical purpose: it dramatically improves resistance to de-aluminification, the selective leaching of aluminium from the alloy surface that can occur in stagnant or slow-moving seawater, making C95600 a preferred grade for seawater valve bodies, seacock fittings, and marine piping components where flow velocities may be low. The lower aluminium content (compared to AB2 and NAB) also improves weldability and reduces the sensitivity to hot cracking during casting. Electrical Accessories India manufactures C95600 castings for marine, water treatment, and industrial fluid handling applications.

Applications

C95600 silicon aluminum bronze is primarily specified for marine fittings requiring resistance to de-aluminification, including seacock valves, sea strainer bodies, through-hull fittings, and bilge pump housings. In water treatment and desalination, C95600 is used for valve bodies and fittings in slow-flow or stagnant-section piping where NAB and AB2 may be vulnerable to de-aluminification. The alloy is also used for electrical connector housings, earthing fittings, and busbar hardware in coastal and offshore electrical installations.
