CC753S Brass Casting – CuZn37Pb0.5 EN 1982
CC753S (EN 1982 / CuZn37Pb0.5) is a semi-lead-free yellow brass casting grade with reduced lead content (max 0.50% Pb), positioned between standard leaded yellow brass (CC750S/CC752S, 1–2.5% Pb) and fully lead-free grades (CC212A silicon brass). CC753S is used where regulatory requirements demand lead reduction but not complete lead elimination, and where the investment in a lead-free alloy such as silicon brass is not yet justified.
Alloy Overview
CC753S retains the Cu-Zn yellow brass composition of CC752S (Cu 57–63%, Zn ~37%) with lead reduced to max 0.50%. This provides some machinability benefit over fully lead-free alloys while delivering substantially lower lead content than standard leaded grades. Suitable for applications where lead limits of 0.25–0.50% are mandated by regional regulations, and where full NSF 61 or AB1953 lead-free compliance is not yet required.

Applications
CC753S is specified for: plumbing hardware in markets with intermediate lead regulations (0.5% limit); valves and fittings for non-potable water service where reduced lead is preferred; general hardware castings in EU markets with lead reduction mandates; and as a transitional alloy for manufacturers moving from full-lead to lead-free production.
