C95300 Bronze Casting – CDA 953 | Low Iron Aluminum Bronze | IS 318 Gr.5 | UNS C95300

C95300 (UNS C95300, CDA 953, IS 318 Gr.5) is a low-iron aluminum bronze casting alloy containing 9.0–11.0% aluminium and only 0.8–1.5% iron, making it softer and more machinable than the higher-iron AB1 and AB2 grades while still retaining the excellent corrosion resistance characteristic of the aluminum bronze family. The reduced iron content results in a predominantly alpha microstructure at lower aluminium levels, transitioning to alpha-beta at the upper aluminium range, giving C95300 a wider range of achievable mechanical properties depending on melt chemistry control. C95300 is selected for medium-duty applications where machinability, corrosion resistance, and moderate strength are the primary requirements. Typical applications include pump casing bodies for freshwater and moderately aggressive service, valve bodies for industrial water and compressed air systems, bearing housings for light-duty machinery, electrical connector housings, earthing hardware castings, and marine deck fittings in freshwater or brackish water environments. The higher machinability compared to AB2 and NAB grades makes C95300 economically attractive for high-volume machined casting orders where tight tolerances and short cycle times are required.
