CC765S Manganese Brass Casting – CuZn37Mn3Al2
CC765S (EN 1982 / CuZn37Mn3Al2-C) is the European standard designation for manganese bronze / high tensile brass at the 490 MPa strength level, directly equivalent to US C86500 / IS 318 HTB1. It is the most widely used high-tensile brass casting grade in the EN 1982 system, providing the combination of high strength, adequate corrosion resistance, and castability that makes it the industry standard for marine propellers, pump impellers, worm wheels, slide bearings, and heavy structural hardware.
Alloy Overview
CC765S achieves 490 MPa tensile strength through the combination of alpha-beta duplex structure (at Cu 55–60%, Zn ~37%) with multi-element solid solution hardening by Mn (0.5–3.0%), Al (0.5–2.0%), and Fe (0.4–2.0%). The alloy casts cleanly into complex sand moulds and can be machined with carbide tooling to finished dimensions. All CE-marked and EN 1982-certified castings supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material test certificate.
