CC755S High Tensile Brass Casting – CuZn35Mn2Al1
CC755S (EN 1982 / CuZn35Mn2Al1-C) is the European standard designation for high tensile brass (manganese bronze) at the lower strength level, equivalent to US C86200. With tensile strength of 490 MPa, CC755S is used for marine propellers, pump impellers, slide bearings, worm wheels, and structural castings requiring strength well above standard yellow or red brass while maintaining good corrosion resistance in industrial and marine service.
Alloy Overview
CC755S achieves its high strength through the alpha-beta duplex structure of CuZn35 with further solid solution hardening by Mn (0.5–2.0%) and Al (0.5–1.5%) additions and grain refinement by Fe (0.4–2.0%). This makes CC755S suitable for sand casting of marine and industrial components where C86200/HTB1 strength is required with EN 1982 certification.
