CC754S Brass Casting – CuZn38Al EN 1982
CC754S (EN 1982 / CuZn38Al) is a yellow brass alloy specifically formulated for pressure die casting production, with a small aluminium addition (0.2–0.8%) that improves fluidity, reduces zinc fuming during melting, and enhances surface finish on die cast components. Equivalent to C85800 in the ASTM system, CC754S is the standard European yellow brass pressure die casting alloy for high-volume production of decorative hardware, automotive trim, and thin-wall functional components.
Alloy Overview
The aluminium addition in CC754S improves die-fill by reducing surface tension and melt viscosity at casting temperature, enabling thinner wall sections (1.5–2 mm) than are achievable with plain yellow brass. The Al also acts as a mild deoxidant, reducing gas porosity in die castings. CC754S is optimised for cold-chamber pressure die casting at 300–400 bar injection pressure, producing 500–2,000 shots/hour.
