CC750S Yellow Brass Casting – CuZn33Pb2-C EN 1982
CC750S (EN 1982 / CuZn33Pb2-C) is the European standard yellow brass casting grade, equivalent to US C85700. It is the highest-volume commercial brass casting alloy in Europe, used for decorative architectural hardware, plumbing trim, lamp fittings, door and window hardware, and general engineering components. The combination of good castability, high machinability, and attractive golden-yellow colour makes CC750S the standard choice for cast decorative and commercial hardware manufactured to EN 1982.
Alloy Overview
CC750S specifies Cu 58–64%, Zn balance (nominally 34–38%), Pb 1.0–2.5%, Sn max 0.5%. The composition provides excellent fluidity for sand, gravity die, and pressure die casting, high machinability (85%+ CDA), and adequate strength (270 MPa) for decorative and light engineering service. EN 1982 CC750S castings are produced with EN 10204 3.1 material test certificates confirming composition within the EN 1982 specification limits.
