C89520 Alloy Composition and Technical Properties
C89520 uses bismuth (1.0–2.5%) and selenium (0.05–0.15%) additions to replicate lead’s chip-breaking function during machining operations, producing short, brittle chips that prevent tool-wrap and surface finish degradation. Bismuth also partially fills interdendritic spaces during solidification, improving pressure tightness compared to silicon brass lead-free grades.
