CW614N Brass Forgings | CuZn39Pb3 Free-Cutting Brass | EN 12164
CW614N Brass Forgings | CuZn39Pb3 Free-Cutting Brass | EN 12164
CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) is the European EN designation for free-cutting brass — the highest machinability alloy in the EN brass range, equivalent to ASTM C36000 (UNS C36000). With 3.0% lead content and a 60/39 copper-zinc ratio, CW614N produces the finest chip formation and surface finish achievable in a copper alloy. Although primarily designated as a turned/extruded alloy per EN 12164 (drawn rods for free-machining), CW614N is also used as forged blanks and open-die forgings for components requiring the finest possible CNC-machined surface, tightest dimensional tolerances, and maximum machining productivity. Electrical Accessories India supplies CW614N forged blanks for precision European-specification machined components including electrical terminal bodies, valve stems, instrument fittings, and plumbing fittings where the EN CW614N designation is required by the specifying engineer.

Applications of CW614N Forged Blanks
CW614N forged blanks and forging rounds are CNC-machined into: electrical terminal blocks and busbar connectors (CW614N is the standard EN alloy for these applications in EU); pneumatic fitting bodies per ISO 1179 (G-thread); precision metering valve bodies; instrument manifold components; auto-lathe machined parts for automotive and electronics; watch, clock, and precision timepiece components; medical instrument bodies; and gas fitting union bodies. For pressure-rated valve bodies requiring hot closed-die forging, specify CW617N; CW614N is optimal where machining output rate is the primary concern.
- Electrical: DIN terminal blocks, busbar connectors, neutral bars, earth terminals
- Pneumatic: ISO 1179 G-thread body fittings, push-in fitting bodies
- Precision machined: instrument bodies, medical gas components, watch parts
- Automotive: carburetor bodies, fuel union bodies, brake caliper pins
- Gas fittings: union bodies, nipple bodies, elbow inserts (machined from forged blanks)
- Electronics: RF connector bodies, coaxial connector sleeves, PCB standoffs
