C37700 Brass Forgings | ASTM B124 Forging Brass | UNS C37700
C37700 Brass Forgings | ASTM B124 Forging Brass | UNS C37700
C37700 brass (UNS C37700, ASTM B124) — also known as Forging Brass or Architectural Bronze in some US trade references — is the primary American ASTM alloy specifically designated for hot closed-die forging operations. With a copper content of 58.0–61.0%, zinc balance of approximately 38%, and lead content of 1.5–2.5%, C37700 achieves the two-phase alpha-beta microstructure that enables excellent plasticity at forging temperatures of 650–750°C. C37700 is the direct US equivalent of the European CW617N (CuZn40Pb2) and India’s IS 319 Grade 2. Electrical Accessories India manufactures C37700 brass forgings from 50 g to 5 kg with complete CNC machining and exports to the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, UAE, and 30+ countries.

Applications of C37700 Brass Forgings
C37700 is the benchmark alloy for forged brass components in North American and export markets meeting ASTM specifications. Key applications include: ball valve bodies and gate valve bodies to ASME B16.34 and ASME B16.18; plumbing compression fitting bodies to ASME B16.26; gas valve bodies to ANSI Z21.15; pneumatic fitting bodies for compressed air systems; hydraulic manifold blocks; electrical conduit bodies (LB, LR, LL, T fittings); cable gland bodies for heavy-duty industrial installations; and architectural hardware components requiring hot-forged strength and machinability. C37700 forgings meet ASTM B283 (copper alloy die forgings) and ASTM B124 (copper alloy forging rod).
- Ball valve and gate valve bodies: ASME B16.34, 150# to 300# class, 1/4″ to 4″ NPT
- Compression fitting bodies: ASME B16.26, brass compression elbow, tee, cross
- Gas distribution: ANSI Z21.15 gas cock bodies, gas meter components
- Electrical: conduit bodies (LB/LR/LL/T), cable gland bodies M63+, junction boxes
- Pneumatic: compressed air valve bodies, manifold blocks, push-to-connect bodies
- Hydraulic: manifold blocks, pressure fitting bodies, hydraulic valve housings
