C65500 High Silicon Bronze A casting (UNS C65500), designated CW116C in the European standard BS EN 12163, CuSi3Mn1 in ISO, CuSi3Mn in DIN, IS 318 Gr.SiB3 in India, and JIS C6561 in Japan, is a premium silicon bronze with 2.8-3.8% silicon and 0.5-1.3% manganese. C65500’s manganese addition improves grain refinement in sand castings, producing finer microstructure and higher mechanical properties than C87300 or C87600 at similar sand casting conditions. Component weights 0.05-200+ kg. Tolerances CT7-CT9. Surface finish Ra 6.3-12.5 um. Lead times 1-2 weeks from existing patterns. Suitable for cryogenic valve bodies, large chemical plant hardware, and structural earthing components where maximum strength is required.
