C35300 Brass Forgings | High-Leaded Brass | UNS C35300

C35300 (UNS C35300), designated High-Leaded Brass, bridges the gap between C36000 free-cutting brass (maximum machinability) and C37700 forging brass (maximum forgeability). With 60.0–63.0% copper and 1.5–2.5% lead content (similar to CW617N/C37700 but slightly lower zinc), C35300 combines good hot forgeability with excellent machinability ratings of 80–90% (vs. C36000 = 100%). C35300 is produced as hot-forged blanks for screw machine stock, precision-machined electrical components, valve internals, and instrument parts where both forged density (no porosity) and high CNC machining productivity are required. It is specified in ASTM B124 and ASTM B283 for die forgings.
